While both products have a precisely tailored fit for your G1™ Kennel, it’s important to note some of the key differences between the two, specifically their thickness and materials they’re made from. The Performance Pad is 3/4″ thick, shock-absorbent, completely weatherproof, and is easily cleaned with a hose or power washer. The Orthopedic Bed, on the other hand, is made up of two inches of Viscoelastic memory foam and has a water-resistant ballistic nylon cover, which is removed from the memory foam for cleaning.
The Gunner Orthopedic Bed, like our kennel, was developed to protect and enrich your best friend’s quality of life. It does so by providing preventive support, increased blood flow, temperature regulation, and better sleep for your canine companion.
Our bed uses the same high-quality, Viscoelastic memory foam that is found in high-end human mattresses in tandem with high-density support foam to evenly distribute your dog’s weight and relieve the pressure from their joints. This is the same technology used by Veterinarians for post-operation surgery recovery because, by evenly distributing the dog’s weight, key pressure points are relieved, which allows for nutrient-rich blood flow back to areas that promote quick healing and faster recovery.
The support they receive also allows your companion to recover without inflaming pressure points, giving their limbs a chance to rest comfortably above the kennel’s rotomolded surface — helping protect against general aches and pains, joint discomfort, arthritis, hip dysplasia, and more.
Finally, those two inches of foam are gel-infused to keep your dog better regulate their temperature, helping them stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. To top it all off, the bed is encased in a removable 1680 Denier-Rated ballistic nylon cover, that happens to utilize the same Kevlar thread used to make bulletproof vests. This ensures maximum seam strength for maximum tear resistance along with easy cleaning after extended use.
While many joint and arthritis cases are genetic, another significant factor in these cases is overuse. Working and sporting dogs, in particular, endure more wear and tear than the average dog, and the best thing for them after a hard day’s work is to have a comfortable place to relax and relieve pressure from their joints. However, those workdays in the field more often than not mean a dirty companion. That’s where the Performance Pad shines.
This 3/4″ thick, shock-absorbent cushion is both waterproof and odor-resistant, meaning your companion can load up for the trip home in comfort without having to worry about the repercussions to the pad.
